Gilt Groupe, one of the fastest growing companies in NYC provides access, by invitation only, to Men`s, Women`s, Children`s, Beauty, and Home coveted fashion and luxury brands at prices up to 70% off retail. Each sale lasts 36 hours and features hand selected styles from a single designer. The business model, based on urgency and scarcity, offers extraordinary goods at incredible prices, but only for a limited time. All of these sales occur daily at noon, driven by daily email reminders and alerts to a private membership. Most of the hot items are sold within the first 10 minutes, with the bulk of sales occurring within the first 90 minutes.
The business causes a daily, massive flood of transactional traffic at noon. Hundreds of thousands of shoppers compete online for the limited inventory, creating the need for a highly scalable and reliable web infrastructure. Our peak traffic is approaching the average load of large ecommerce sites like Amazon.com. The platform team is building an infrastructure that can handle it.
Seeking an Automation Engineer to take on the development and execution of automated tests using Java and Selenium. We’re looking for somebody with a real passion for the software quality assurance process and who wants to apply technology to automate and make that process better.
Your experience should include the following:
Technical exposure to Java
Exposure to Selenium
Responsibilities
• Automate manual test cases using a combination of Java and Selenium
• Execute automated regression test suites to ensure new functionality has not affected other parts of the site
• Work with the manual testing team on identifying test cases to automate
• Meet with engineering and business teams to understand site functionality
• Research new testing techniques and technologies
Qualifications
• 2+ years experience in test automation and software quality assurance and development in a web environment
• 1+ years experience coding in a high-level object oriented language such as Java or Python
• 1+ years experience using Selenium and Selenium Grid
• Proficient in SQL and executing back-end database validations
• Provide test suite execution reports to management
